This policy explains what personal data Opticalia Gambia collects through www.opticalia.gm (the “Website”), why we collect it and what your rights are.

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. Data we collect

We only collect the data you choose to give us through the forms on the Website:

• Appointment form: full name, phone number, email address, type of appointment, chosen store, age of the person concerned and requested date.
• Contact form: full name, email address, phone number if you provide it, subject and message.
• Newsletter: email address.

We do not ask for payment details or medical records through the Website. Please do not include sensitive health information in your messages.

3. Why we use your data

• To arrange, confirm and follow up your appointment in the store you selected.
• To check whether an offer applies to your appointment, for example the free eye examination for patients under 18, which is why we ask for the age of the person concerned.
• To answer your questions and requests.
• To send you our news and offers if you subscribed to the newsletter.

We use your data on the basis of your request or your consent, and only for these purposes.

4. Children

Appointments for a child must be requested by a parent or legal guardian, who provides the information on the child’s behalf.

5. Who can access your data

Your data is accessible only to the Opticalia teams who handle appointments and enquiries, and to the technical providers who host and maintain the Website on our behalf. We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

6. Where your data is stored

Form submissions are stored in the Website database, hosted by o2switch in France. Your data may therefore be stored outside The Gambia.

7. How long we keep your data

• Appointment and contact requests: [retention period, for example 24 months after the last contact].
• Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Exchanges with the Website are encrypted (HTTPS).

9. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it for our newsletter. To do so, write to info@opticalia.gm. We may ask you to confirm your identity before answering.

10. Third-party services

Some features rely on external services: the store map on the Contact page is provided by OpenStreetMap, and some links open Google Maps, WhatsApp or social networks. When you use them, these services may receive technical information such as your IP address and apply their own privacy policies. More details are available on our Cookies page.

We may update this policy when the Website or our practices change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest version.
